Character development, this is something me and Oliver have been facing issues with but we have some ideas. We have 2 main characters a kidnapper and a kidnappie who are both involved with drugs, which are correlated with stupidity and failure. In order to over come certain challenges however you need to do things which involve either strength, knowledge, friendship, or luck. In our project we are making it so we introduce a problem which requires knowledge to over come. So by introducing a problem we make it so our character needs to use his intelligence to get out of stick situations. So our kidnappie will go through character development mentally.
Good character development requires multiple things to be great though. The things needed are a good backstory, flaws, goals, personality, morals etc.... We already have a good backstory about why the kidnapper is doing what he is doing, and how our kidnappie is like before the drug deal. Of course we have an obvious goal for the kidnappie to escape, and we have designated. We will also be making sure our audience has a good understanding of both main characters personalities through flashbacks, and the backstory. How ever we are having issues with morals, as both characters obviously have flaws with morals as they are both involved with crime, so its hard to clearly establish one has good morals. So we will have to clearly spell it out either by the means of the kidnappie performing the drug deal and it being a mistake or him being forced to do it. This way we can establish a that one of our character has good morals.
