Mise en saun consists of multiple elements, which I will be splitting into 2 blogs, today I will be talking about Lighting and the set. Starting with the set, we want to use multiple areas to present our film, being an empty parking lot, the back of a car, and a dark room. We are using these sets as me and Oliver Romero my partner are making an action based kidnapping opening, which consists of where the kidnapping takes place the parking lot, the car where the kidnaped is being transported. Finally the dark room where he finally end up.
Lighting, lighting is a big aspect in our portfolio project, since our film opening is action based we need our lighting to best show what we need the scene to present, for example in the car we would like the lighting to be dim as, it both highlights the kidnappie and black represents hopelessness. But, we dont want just our car scene to be dark, we want most of our opening dark, as being kidnapped, and dealing drugs are both bad things which are again associated with the color black.
