portfolio project final week

Its been a journey to say the least. I just finished everything, I cant say it wasn't good though. I had fun recording and planning out my project, and even the CCRs, they really helped me appreciate things which I didnt consider that much. It definetly was hard though, especially with the deadlines, doing this project while handling other tasks, i'snt easy.

However, I think I did good, I believe my weak point is definetly the CCRs, although I believe they are fine, There were things like background noises where it was completely out of my control, distracting from a part of my 1st CCR. However, I am definetly satisfied with the results.

Portfolio project final week

CCR editing, I have finish all of my filming and I am finishing up the editing. During the editing of my CCRs, I have focused on making it fast paced and adding images through out. I tried making it as simple as possible, as the CCR is meant to be a reflection, and as well as tommorrow being the last day I believe this is the best way to edit the project, especially since it has worked and I'm almost done editing.

Future, tommorrow I will finish editing my second video, and then I'm going to paste all of my sources. After doing this I'm going to do a double check over everything, and finish my second to last blog. After doing that I will paste my links in the final blog, finishing off this journey.

Final week portfolio project

Production of CCRs, this is the final week of this project, and in the past week me and Oliver finished editing the actual project, and we individually had to film and edit 2 CCRs. Today I will be discussing the production of these 2 videos. I have recorded both but I want to re film parts, I believe this is fine as the actual editing part of this project is not as tedious, as its very simple with fast paced editing and maybe with pictures.

Since I need to re-film parts, this is going to change my schedule up a bit. So tommorrow I plan to finish up my scenes for my second video in the morning, then I plan to fix the parts in my interview, when my friend is available tommorrow, then I will finish editing at least one of the videos tommorrow, then I will edit my final video on Monday. (i'm posting a blooper of what I already filmed)

portfolio project week (3/2-3/8)

In the past few blog posts I have discussed My CCR, it has mostly been about the outlines and what I will be speaking about, today I will discuss where and how I will film and edit it and why. Firstly where, My first CCR is going to be an interview with my friend, so we will be filming in his home. This is just convenient for the both of us, and he has a table area which really depicts the tone I want in this video. For my second video, It will be in my room at my desk, its a video recorded diary, its supposed to be something which is set at home where things are kept safe.

Editing, I'm probably going to do this on clip champ, it is an editing software which me and my classmates have been using through out, the year, and we have gotten used to it. So, it is convenient for me. It also helps as, me and Oliver are behind with editing, we are about to finish editing tommorrow or Tuesday, where i'm going to be filming my CCRs tommorrow. So being familiar with clip champ will help me finish faster.

portfolio project week (3/2-3/8)

CCR post 4, finally the last question I need to answer. Previously I talked about how I am splitting questions 3 and 4 into a video recorded diary. So after answering the question 3 of my CCR, I will transition into my question 4 with a bit of dialogue. It mainly discusses what I need to talk about, along with some talking points, as I feel like this is a more difficult question to answer than the previous question. (I am posting my Outline below.)

As shown above I split this question into 4 parts. 2 big parts and 2 subsections. I did this just to make it easier to digest, and speak about. I said this question was harder to answer, due to part one of it, how does my product engage with the audience, film openings are very focused based on the actual project, which I have discussed a lot over these past few weeks, so being introduced to a new type of question made me think for a moment, where I split into editing and filming. However, I think I answered it well, as shown above I split product engaging audience, into editing and filming, which answers the question, and related back to something which I have discussed a lot over these past few weeks.

Portfolio project week (3/2-3/8)

Today we are discussing part 2 of the CCR, the second video, which will consist of the other 2 questions which I needed to answer. today I'm will be discussing how I plan to answer, How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in tis project? So, to answer the other 2 questions of the CCR I will be making a video recorded diary by the kidnapper. This gives me a easy way to answer 2 questions I need to answer, while being engaging.

I will be filming this video with a calming environment, with a calm but shaky voice. As this is a place where he is venting, so he feels more calm ,but of course he committed a crime so he should still be shaky. Instead of dark lighting, like most other things in my project, I will be recording this with lighter lighting, as it contrasts the rest of my project, and it can make sense, as it discusses the process of my project which isn't something which needs a negative tone.

Finally, my outline provides me with talking points which I will be discussing in my project, I believe this is better than making a script as It allows me to adjust better, while being structured. As shown in my outline above, I will answer the 3rd questions by separating it into 3 parts, the editing soft ware, outside resources, and learning materials.

Portfolio project week (3-2/3/8)

Previously, I have discussed question 1 of my creative critical reflection video, today I will be discussing question 2. I am splitting up the 4 questions into 2 videos, the first 2 in one video, the second 2 in another. We need question 2 to be answered in a way that the audience is entertained and in a way that they understand the insight of me and my partners process. So, the first video is an interview between the kidnapper, and the person who got killer's twin brother, this takes an emotional part of my project, and returns 2 of the characters, which I believe is good to keep the audience watching. The reason why I do the brother is, its unrealistic to have a dead person do an interview. (so I made a starting script, along with an outline of what I will discuss)

In this video, I would like to have dim lighting, casual clothes, and mostly close ups and mid shots of the interview. This way it is focused on the characters and it encapsulates that dark tone. For the editing, I want to keep it simple but professional. I will mostly be focused on things like lighting.  we have limited time left for this project however I still want it to be quality, this way I can quickly work through this as I finish up editing the actual project.

Overall, I believe my first CCR video, will turn out good, and it will be done fast, as I already know what I need to talk about, I know how I need to edit, and film this as well. Now, I am looking forward to planning and filming video 2.

portfolio project week (2/23-3/1)

Today I will be discussing the final part of my portfolio project, as although we aren't finished editing its a good idea to start looking over at what we should be doing for this. The CCR is a set of 4 questions which I will be answering with 2 videos. For the first 2 questions I think I'm going to do an interview. This will allow me to set up questions so I can answer the questions I need while being able to have the tone I want. The first question I will answer is: How does your product use of challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues.

Normally, in crime based movies there is a clearly "bad guy", where the plot is man vs man, however we challenge this by making both of out characters criminals, where one is a victim of a kidnapping, this is where usually there is an expectation that the "protagonist is the victim", however we challenge this by showing how this victim was the killer of the kidnappers best friend. This instead of starting off as a typical "crime movie", starts off with the protagonist with the upper hand, as he clearly has the antagonist under control. Our flashback scene highlights this, and prop scene highlight this with the memories of seeing 2 best friends, and an explanation for why what was done was done. Furthermore, social groups, The social groups we represented were criminals, we clearly establish this with lighting, clothing, dialogue, etc.... These elements were able to clearly  portray criminals who valued friend ship, which brings audiences to see what best friends mean.
