We had to make a video project where me and my teammate represented regret using editing techniques, camera shots, and composition and movement, while not being able to show sound. We had to take videos or pictures in class, and had to edit it so it would be 60 seconds to 90 seconds long. We had to have at least 15 shots.
We first came up with a topic which we could replicate in a school environment, like taking failing a test. Which we ended up using. Then we started thinking about how illustrate a story around failing a test, while showing regret. After this we wrote out our story into 15 different parts. Then we decided which camera shot or angle would illustrate our pictures the best.
Our story board was able to show an example of what our project may look like, as we had to draw our story board as well. From being able to see what it would look like it helped us cut some things out.
We used color scale and speed effects while editing to help visualize regret. We also cropped parts
I think we did a good job editing, after editing it was much easier to tell what showed regret, as we could not display sound. We were also able to make a 3 min 30 second video into a good 1 min and 22 second video. I also think we used our camera shots well; they displayed what we wanted the environment to feel like. Some of our camera shots came out blurry, and some videos didnt show everything we wanted, so next time I would increase the quality of our videos.
